Can't Trust Who

I don't know where to turn
I thought I was right
No way of getting burn
Everything was black and white
Every lesson learn
To prepare me from this nightmare
Now I know why I knew
The key to my success
My curse to bless
Me is my only cure
Of this I am so insecure

Midnight blues

midnight blues are the bitter leaves of the jungle
shrugged and cut off before they ever touch the skin
unless the hunter forgets where he is
he's protected by the edges of his sword
midnight blues are the bruises of the soul
leave it alone and you're safe from trouble
touch it just once and the pain begins to resonate
the throbbing commences and the tears roll on
the night is a blur unwanted until daylight comes
yes let's forget midnight blues, let's remember no more

Can't stand you

I see you look at me
Your eyes speak the reality
You smile yet all the while
Your body awkward and uncomfortable
I am who I say I am
Yet you don't want to understand
Your skin colour does not impress me
Trust me you got the same nappy hair I got
I don't want you believing you can stress me
Besides you and I both know I'm hot
It's not pride it's my belief
Prove me wrong and change your attitude
Let me sigh, a sigh of relief
If you don't then I must assume you're just rude
So I can't stand you with your nose so up high
I can't stand with your face so up above the ground
Trust me you ain't that fine
And what goes around comes around
Humble yourself before it catches up to you
I know what I'm saying for these words are true

Unseen, Unheard

She is the flower that was trampled
The diadem broken and thrown
A heart broken with sorrow
The one that was sampled
Forgotten and alone
With perfection of her own
Talents left to drain in waters
The rivers that wash the pain away
She walked through life unseen
Jump through mirrors unheard
She is the crown worn with pride
She is the centerpiece of the attention
Time is a moment at the sight of figure
So graceful with beauty she lays
Pale with content
Blue she doesn't pretend
Gone with the wind
Adjusted to her bed
Cold she is still unseen, unheard
